# Getting Started

This guide will walk you through connecting to inDeFi and making your first allocation.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

## Connecting Your Wallet

    Confirm the connection request in your wallet

<Warning>
  inDeFi will **never** ask you to:

  * Share your private keys or seed phrase
  * Approve unlimited token spending
  * Sign transactions you don't understand

  If prompted for any of these, you may be on a phishing site.

## Making an Allocation

Once connected, you can allocate your digital assets:

1. **Select Duration** - Choose your preferred lock-up period
2. **Enter Amount** - Specify the amount of USDC or USDT to allocate
3. **Review Terms** - Understand the allocation terms and expected timeline
4. **Confirm Transaction** - Sign the transaction in your wallet

## Understanding Lock-up Periods

inDeFi organizes allocations around duration-based lock-up structures:

| Duration    | Characteristics                                    |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Short-term  | Higher liquidity, lower target yields              |
| Medium-term | Balanced approach                                  |
| Long-term   | Lower liquidity, higher target yield opportunities |
